About me

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has experience with psychological assessment and psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with mood-related issues, anxiety, trauma, school-based issues, or mild Autism Spectrum Disorder. I create a comfortable, safe, open environment for individuals to share their life story as well as their challenges or behaviors that impede them from fully attaining their best self. I believe that negative behaviors and symptoms serve a protective purpose: to lessen pain, avoid discomfort, or limit suffering. While these behaviors may have historically made sense in order to navigate an individual’s pain, it has become overused, non-discriminatory, and rigidly fixed. This then leads to more problems rather than solutions.

My goal is to help clients develop insight into how their responses from past challenges are impacting their current functioning and help them understand it from a perspective of agency, strength, resiliency, and purpose.  This is done in the context of a collaborative, relational, and respectful therapeutic relationship where I employ psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral techniques to assist clients in reaching their goals.
